Advance Medical Support Assistant (MAS Key West)

He/She collaborates in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model. The Advance MSA coordinates with the patient care team to review the clinic utilization by using various reports, ensure clinic setup is closely monitored to effectively support the needs of the clinic, enrollment of new patients and make any necessary adjustments. Performs duties of MSA at an expanded scope and advanced level. Serves as the administrative subject matter expert within the patient care team. Provides administrative and enrollment support and is an integral member of the clinic team to effectively carry out daily administrative operations of the clinic. Manages electronic wait list to verify and validate accuracy and resolve issues. Provided consult management and is the subject matter expert in this area. Evaluates patient information and clinic schedule lists to determine whether patient is vested. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule:
This position may receive shifts between 8 to 12 hours, rotating weekends and Holidays. Tour may be subject to change and is at the discretion of management and Medical Center needs. Qualifications:
A. Citizenship:
Applicant must possess a United States Citizenship B. Education and/or Experience Combination:
(1) Experience. Six months experience of clerical, office or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position; or (2) Education. One year above high school; or (3) Experience/Education Combination. Equivalent combination of experience and education are qualifying for entry level for which both education and experience are acceptable. C. English Language Proficiency:
In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), No person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. You must be proficient in basic written and spoken English in order to meet the requirements of this position. II. GRADE
Qualifications:
A. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
One (1) year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 Medical Support Assistant level in Federal Service is required. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with active professional laboratory practice. Examples of specialized experience are:
Assisting with clinic access contingency plans by adjusting appointment times, location, or dates as well as shift patients to other healthcare providers as conflict with staffing and/or coverage occurs; updating demographic information, scheduling appointments, collection insurance information, data entry, administratively managing consultation requests, and electronic wait list, and notifying the patient of his/her appointment; developing and maintaining specific reports used by the patient care team to monitor, track and trend care delivery as well as participating and leading quality improvement efforts focused on cost, access, quality and customer satisfaction; etc B. It is highly desirable that candidates for these positions meet the following criteria:
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Interaction with patients/customers in a Medical/Clinical setting either by face to face or over the phone. Experience dealing with a diverse group of individuals when providing pertinent/general medical/clinical information. 3 -plus years of customer service style training.
